There are few, if any, composers who don't count Bach as an influence. This concert pairs Bach's "D minor Partita," which includes the famous Chaconne, with Finnish composer Kaija Saariaho's 2011 "Frises," for violin and live electronics, which uses the same Baroque dance forms found in the Bach. Jennifer Koh, who has been regularly drawing connections between Bach and new works in her "Bach and Beyond" series, plays violin, and composer Jean-Baptiste Barrière does live electronics.
